Hints and Tips for Electric Trolley Users
Especially at this time of year we get a number of customers
bringing in batteries for testing as they struggle to complete
a full round of golf. Hopefully with the guideline below we can
help you avoid being one of them.
- Always recharge the battery as soon as possible after playing.
- Once the battery has charged, leave it on the charger! Most golf chargers
are fully automatic and drop down to just a trickle charge
thereby keeping your battery in tip top shape for your next game.
- Never play more than 18 holes on one charge. Obviously a match
running down the 19th or 20th hole is fine but try not to go beyond this.
- If going away on holiday for a prolonged period the best thing
for your battery is to lend it to a friend. Batteries are like humans,
they like a bit of excercise now and then. Failing that keep
it on charge, but if your not happy leaving electrical items plugged
in while away, make sure the battery is fully charged before
disconnecting.
- Remember a battery can only perform as well as the cart it's
powering. A poorly maintained cart can drain a perfectly good
battery in less than 18 holes, so a cart service every 12-18 months
is worth considering. Preventing the problem is always
better than curing it.
